The future is inclusive
It is also going to require flexibility

Here is a thing to consider: breathe and make friends with change.
Change is the only constant.
It is always happening, and it always has been.
We are in a rough patch now—some people are terrified of the changes, while some people think that things are not changing fast enough.
Change happens at its own pace.
And So. Do. You.
Feel your pace, gauge it against the flow.
The people who hate, who threaten, who want to punish and rule with an iron fist?
They are going to lose. They will be chipped down slowly by the wind and the sun; by the rain and the cold. They will be broken by the changes, because they are inflexible, because their minds have become hardened; their synapses are unable to shift in order to register and process new ideas or perspectives. Just as tree roots tear up concrete, eat through brick and mortar; the way fungi eat through wood, change is going to topple those who grasp at the old ways of power and control.
The population is shifting to younger, more mentally agile people. Keeping an open mind is the only way to move with the changes and keep your sanity. You must flow with the water and bend in the wind, to keep strong and healthy, to grow and flourish.
Shift is happening. It is not pretty.
Help each other, love each other, look ahead and not behind.
The only way out is through, and to get there, you must lean into the flow.
Things are weird. They are likely to get weirder. We can embrace that, and find a way to shape it into something better, healthier, stronger. In a flood, denying that the water is rising around you because you don’t like that it is happening, doesn’t help you stay alive. Are you going to sit on your roof and refuse to get in the first boat that comes, because it’s the wrong color? We have to acknowledge where we are, in order to see what needs to be done from here. We can open our eyes, reach out with new tools, learn new words and new ideas, correct unhealthy patterns, engage with what is happening. That is the way which leads to inclusiveness.
And inclusiveness is the future.
The people who want to pull us backwards into a dark age are talking about some scary stuff. It’s repressive, exclusive, controlling, and narrow inside the world they envision. They want to turn out the lights. They have been living in a kind of darkness, a spiritual darkness where everything must be a certain way in order for them to be comfortable. That isn’t the way the world works.
Out here, in the real world of light, change, and love, we have inter-racial couples and non-traditional families, same sex marriages, transgender humans holding important jobs, and persons of all races and genders doing ground-breaking work. And a larger portion of the population now comes from a blended genetic background, with increasingly diverse ancestral lineage, which can and will strengthen future generations of humans.
In actual reality, the existence of drag queens and LGBTQ+ people hurts no one; but there is a long historical pattern of people with too much religious and political power who have abused and groomed those they see as their underlings, so they can do what they will with them.
Sometimes in real life, women need to work and men need to stay home with the kids. People of different skin colors fall in love with each other. Humans realize that they are not cut out for the familial life their parents or grandparents lived, and that they need something which looks quite different. Patterns of generational trauma are being healed because there is a growing acceptance and understanding that you don’t have to live life in a particular way that causes you, and thus everyone else around you, pain. This is a huge opportunity to make a happier world.
In the real world with all its joys and tragedies, most people know someone who has needed to end a pregnancy safely, who can’t afford another child, who has had an inviable pregnancy or a miscarriage, or who needed In-Vitro Fertilization to start a much-wanted family.
In actual process in the world right now, there is a huge social revolution happening in the younger generations, with recognition and a clearer understanding of neurodivergence. Scientists and therapists are working to shift and adapt new strategies to enable people to interact successfully with their lives. This opens opportunities to live life in unique ways, and means that people can no longer be cubbyholed into conforming to strict societal or gender roles. We are recognizing that neurodivergence is not new, and that in the past, people who had more extreme versions of it were forced to lead painful, isolated, very awkward lives. Who wants to go back to that?
The world of today, the America of today, is populated by an ever-increasing diversity of humans of all colors, shapes, habits, beliefs, and talents. There is so much out there to explore, if we choose to do so. There are also things which are traps, which take our attention and energy, which become addictions and unhealthy patterns. But there is increasing awareness of how to help and work with these problems. It’s not perfect—it never will be. But it is large; it contains multitudes.
The genie is out of the bottle. Pandora already opened the box. Change will not stop. The future will force us to act. Reality has the upper hand over fake news and willful ignorance, because sooner or later the truth will “out” the junk, and lay the withered, rotting carcasses of it out in the sun to dry. This is the time to make that start happening. Call it out, say it loud, speak that truth. Keep on doing it.
Breathe. Eat. Sleep. Speak. Lather, rinse, repeat.
The future is inclusive, and the cabal of frightened, stubborn, isolated people writing reams of hardline rules for a new repression/regression are fighting a losing battle. Oh, they can put the brakes on us for awhile, but only if we let them. Pay attention. Take the wider view. The gulf between our reality and what the nearsighted negatives call “Project 2025” is immense. They are out of touch and sync with how most of us have been living our lives for a good, long while now.
I suggest we show them exactly how far from reality they are, starting now, and continuing on through November and beyond.
We are large, we contain multitudes.
